robin quickly shifts gears and the batmobile rushes ahead. they hadn't established a finish line, but it's not as if that matters much. he knows wally will win, he's just - allowing the boy to show off a little. )
[ Wally does think it's a little weird this kid's driving, when he doesn't even have a learner's permit. But it's still not the weirdest thing that's happened to him so far. The engine revs and he hears it over and over in his head and it's a sound he feels like he needs to block out. He knows he can outpace it, even with its powerful engines. But when it peels out, Wally runs at a full sprint, and lets it keep the head start.
There's nothing remarkable about the way he runs, even though it feels like there's static in his brain. But if you didn't already know how fast he could actually go, you'd never think he had the makings of a varsity athlete. ]
because the tires spin out for a minute, yes, but wally? is clearly not trying. unfortunately for him, damian is willing to take risks to prove a point - so he shifts the batmobile into reverse quickly, turning the wheel so the rear end of the car is heading right toward the boy.
it doesn't look like he has any intention of stopping before ramming right into him. damian wouldn't cause damage if he could help it, doesn't intend on actually hitting him, but he certainly isn't going to make that obvious. )
[ The thing about Wally's powers? He can't turn them off. Not in any real sense. He can make them less intense if he concentrates, but he never feels like he's slowing down. His brain always feels like its moving faster than everything around him. He can't always predict when they'll do something either.

He runs, faster and faster until he's able to leap into the air and clear the car totally. The landing is...not a graceful one, but at least he didn't eat dirt. ]
( he'd expected west to get out of the way, but not go up. as soon as the boy does move, robin slams on the breaks of the car bringing it to a screeching halt at speeds that certainly wouldn't be safe for anyone inside the car if they weren't prepared for it.
